Malton Floods 2000

In 2000 the rain really came down on Malton, and we had flooding yet again. Most of the land bordering the river Dewent was flooded and the town came to a standstill. The river spilled over onto the railway, stopping all rail traffic for several days. Harold & Barbara Darley  who own Robsons Motor Services  had to listen to yet more excuses from the water authorities and the government. Chuck (Harold) is well known locally for asking politicians and water authority officials, fair and reasonable questions which despite their inflated salaries, they seem incapable of answering.
